Putting 6.2L Lamborghini V12 was an insane idea, but Gianfranco Dini accepted the challenge. Because the Fiat 500 was too short and narrow for the Lamborghini drivetrain the wheelbase and track were significantly extended. A tailored space frame chassis was fabricated and it incorporated a subframe cradle to mount the engine.Torsional reinforcement came from the front and rare steel bulkhead. It also has steel floorpan whose transmission tunnel acts as the car’s backbone. The entire dashboard and center console were fabricated from steel and even the door mirrors are handmade from steel. The Lamborghini AWD transmission was adapted in its entirety with a shortened propshaft and custom driveshafts.
