This MT-240 mining truck has uniquely configured electronically managed transmission system that provides different performances. What’s more interesting is that ETF developed one and only steering system. All wheels operate with a clearance turning cycle of 29 m / 95, 1 ft. The system is controlled by a steer-by-wire function. The wheels are steered at low to medium speed to reduce tyre wear, while if the wheels are steered at higher speed the last two axle change to almost rigid, providing better stability. The best part is that the whole system works automatically so there is no need for the operator to interfere.
